Technology Requirements

To ensure a successful virtual learning experience, students should use a device that meets or exceeds the minimum technology specifications listed below.

For optimal performance, courses are best accessed using the current or most recent version of Google Chrome. While Firefox, Edge, or Safari may also be used, please note that certain course features function best in Chrome. Students will need reliable internet access, a headset, web camera, and microphone.

To maintain security and compatibility, the computer’s operating system should always be updated with the latest recommended software and security updates.

Windows Devices

Operating System: Windows 10 or later

Processor: Intel Celeron N4100 or higher (Intel i3/i5 recommended for middle/high school), AMD equivalent

Memory (RAM): 4 GB minimum (8 GB or higher recommended)

Storage: 64 GB minimum (SSD preferred)

Display: 9.5" or larger, resolution at least 1024 × 768

Keyboard & Input

Camera & Mic: Built-in webcam (720p or higher) and microphone

Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) or better; Ethernet optional

macOS Devices (Apple)

Operating System: macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later

Processor: Apple Silicon M1/M2 or Intel Core i3 or higher

Memory (RAM): 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)

Storage: 64 GB minimum

Display: 9.5" or larger, resolution at least 1024 × 768

Keyboard & Input: Built-in physical keyboard and trackpad

Camera & Mic: Integrated webcam (720p or higher) and microphone

Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) or better

Chromebooks

Operating System: ChromeOS (latest stable version, device must be in auto-update support window)

Processor: Intel Celeron N4020 or higher (i3/i5 preferred for secondary students)

Memory (RAM): 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)

Storage: 32 GB minimum

Display: 9.5" or larger, resolution at least 1024 × 768

Keyboard & Input: Physical keyboard required (no touchscreen-only)

Camera & Mic: Integrated 720p webcam and microphone

Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) or better
